Clutches
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:35:59 pm »
What clutches do you guys run on modded G's?

I am thinking about going for the standard off the shelf LUK one but i am tempted by the organic ones which are around £50-60 more and then almost triple the price for a paddle clutch, is there really enough difference to justify the extra costs over the standard luk one?

I've got a Helix Paddle Clutch on mine:

I got it off eBay ages ago along with a lightened flywheel for silly cheap so I can't comment on the price factor.
Usability I have no complaints, it never slips, it can take a few goes to get used to it but nothing horrendous.

I believe when it's showing signs of wear you can send it back to Helix and they sort it out for quite cheap and this makes it more of an "investment".

You can get the organic versions which I believe feel like an OE clutch, a few people are using Helix stuff on here and I have never heard of any issues.

thanks pete

just been on the phone to them, extremely friendly people, ordered this one

£120 all in which aint bad as ECP wants that for a standard LUK one.

This G40 is draining my funds like nothing else!

i ran a paddle clutch from them snapped the inside out of it ha ha but then rang them posted it to them and they uprated it with alot more rivets so its all good no charge or anything,
