Atv or standard polo gear box

What is the difference with atv and standard polo box ? I have a atv box. I have stripped it down because I had lost first gear to find out my diff was also knacked aswell. But have a spare standard box that has issues was gunna make 1 good one out of both knackered ones will there be any issues ? Cheers
