Funky noise gearbox???

Hi all I'm lovin my G at the mo but I got some funky noise

Ok so if I'm sitting with the engine running I can hear a high scrapping
Noise maybe like metal on metal something it should be making anyways
But it go's away when I push the clutch in. And comes back when I let the clutch
Out agin.

Also I can hear a bit of a whiny if I decelerate in 1st.
A bit like the sound you get when you revers.

Has anyone had this before. I'm guessing it's a lay shaft
And getting the gearbox rebuilt would sort it.
If so anyone know when to go and how much.
Is it time to up rate it?

Could I just change the oil and get by for a bit
Till I got the grand to quaff it.

New release bearing? How is your clutch cable adjusted? Have you allowed a little bit of slack in the fork?

Can't say much about the whine in first gear other than, why are you decelerating in first gear? First gear is just to get the car moving so you can use 2nd as soon as possible. Wouldn't decelerate in first ever really.

I'd look to see your clutch cable adjustment incase the release bearing is up against the clutch plate constantly. Then remove the box and see if you need a new release bearing before rebuilding the gearbox?

Would help if you had a video of the noise?

Oil definitely in the gearbox?

Was the staying in 1st. Not something I usealy do lol

I haven't had the g long so will have a look
At the cable tomoz.
I did think the bearing but it's like the revers
Of when one go's.

mines noisy too... gearbox is fubared tho!

assuming the gearbox still changes gears normally then my money is on it being the release bearing
