Mk2 Turbo clearance
« on: January 21, 2015, 01:11:31 am »
Hi, i'm after some advice;

I'm thinking of Turbo'ing my Mk2 Coupe (which is why I've joined this forum) and i'm a bit worried about clearance in the engine bay. Mk2 bays seems to be a lot shorter than mk2f ones.

Does anyone have an idea of where i could mount the intercooler? I'll be making the manifold myself, and i want to get the turbo farily close to the cylinder head to maximise clearance. At the moment the intercooler really seems to be the only problem. I've already stripped, stonechipped and painted the inner wings so i want to avoid any serious cutting.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks

I am going to be running a G40 in a mk2 and am going to be using the original intercooler mounting for the Mk2. It will mean a bit of cutting, but the best place to hide it

For my mk1 polo i have a custom rad and intercooler set up made, so the intercooler wraps around the front of the rad and sits behind the grill on a mk1, this could also work on a mk2
