Engine idle

Just wondering what should a standardish g40 idle at?
Mine has been idling bewtween 1.5krpm and 2krpm, which i realised wasn't right so when i changed the radiator fan i also sprayed some plus gas on the throttle lincage to loosen it up and have done about 12 miles in the car since, now the idle has changed to hovering around 1krpm.
Is this the right speed at which it should be idling?

Cheers,

Juan

On a standard engine, idle speed should be between 850 - 950rpm.
Many people prefer a 1000+rpm idle for smoother running and more oil pressure. However, there is no real need for this unless the engine is heavily modified.

Engine noise- sounds alot healthier with a touch more oil pressure  ;)
