Battery light on start-up
« on: October 28, 2014, 03:07:12 pm »
On cold startup in the morning, my battery light stays on for about 30secs to a minute then goes off.

What could this mean?

The battery is a brand new bosch s4 and the cars starts perfectly and quickly as many times as you'd like.

means the battery isn't charging.  Most likely a weak alternator but I'd not worry about it if it's only staying on for a short while.

Cheers Paul, youre right! Its definately alternator related. The belt might be loose or something. Haven't checked yet, but it just started squeeling a little under slight revs when taking off.

Ill see if I can tighten it at some point tomorrow!

Thanks again!
