All flogged

Evening ,

With the chip does it come attached to the ecu or is it separate?

Does the cam come with a aftermarket pulley or did you just bolt the standard one on?

Did you ever have the whole lot running together the cam and chip ?

Guessing you ran a ported charger and smaller pulley as well  that the chip recommends?

Cheers Danny.

Hi Danny,

The chip comes separate, so all you need to do is open the ECU and push this chip in.
I just ran the cam with the standard pulley and it was fine.
I got 110Bhp at the wheels with this cam chip ported supercharger and 65mm v belt pulley. It ran very nicely and I used the car daily.

Cheers
Martin

Is that all it is a case of pushing it into the motherboard not soldering? With all those mods is that all it achieved??

Cheers Danny

physicsfool

Yes the chip just pushes in, there is a guide somewhere on here or club polo. Its not hard just make sure you put the chip in the right way.

Yes every G is different and having broken my engine to rebuild i can see there was a bit of blowback around the pistons so an engine in better condition would achieve more. but that equates to roughly 130bhp at the fly.

Bushpig

Is it possible to get a few pics of the condition of the cam?

Cheers Danny.

Bushpig

Did you need to change the buckets to suit the cam or any modifications to head ?

Cheers Danny.

physicsfool

I didnt need to and i checked my head and it hasnt been modified. I bought new INA tappets off PeteG40 (check his section below) but as they havent done many miles i am keeping them for my other cam.
