Fuel pump hangers
« on: September 09, 2014, 01:33:26 pm »
Does anyone know if the little rubber mounts for the fuel pump plate are still available.

I've just noticed my plate hanging down so all are shot.

Fred.

I noticed this on mine when I removed my fuel tank/rear axle, only one of my had perished.  I tried to search for these but couldn't find so I've kinda bodged one out of some rubber.

Not much help I know, but if someone can help on if these are still available I'd appreciate it as well!

Saw some on ebay the other day - I'll try and find them when I have time for a good trawl!

Can you disconnect the pump, filter and accumulator from the plate without disconnecting everything? Bit dodgy jacking the car up outside the house to look and need to freshen plate up.

If you google fuel pump rubber spool or bobbin you can find them...I found a whole range on a kit car/auto electrical site but I can't remember what it is at the mo.  They were cheaper.  Lots of sizes.

Nice one Tav.
I didn't know what they were called to search for them.

I discovered mine Knaffed when I went to see the fuel pump connection.
Just as well as all have fallen in bits.
My plate needs a refurb too though I may make a stainless one.
More expense, Sigh!

Fred.

I seem to recall seeing these on the vehicle-wiring-products website.

I remember replacing the whole lot on mine.  Got the bracket powder coated and put new rubbers on.  Don't remember them being a fortune at vw though.
