auxiliary belts
« on: May 05, 2014, 03:21:19 pm »
Hi. Ive had my g40 off the road now for about 5 years due to what I thought was the supercharger on its way out and having no cash to sort it. Ive finally started getting it sorted but a mate of mine who knows a lot more about cars then me says it may be the auxiliary leads as oppose to the actual supercharger and to get those changed first.
So I was looking for some info from all you experienced g40 owners please?
1st. I have 2 small auxiliary belts so where can I obtain these and are these the only things that should be replaced here?
2nd. If it is the supercharger at fault whats the best and cheapest route to sorting it out?.

Thanks in advance jay

PM PeteG40 for the belts on here, I think he can still get those, if not it will be vw.

As for charger rebuilds I know a lot of the G60 boys on the corrado forum rate JMR who have been doing them for years by all accounts. I've never used them personally but heard lots of good things.

The belts are NLA at VW. May be obtainable from heritage. Pete supplies the exact spec. as per VW. Recommend giving him a shout.
