Brears in Leeds. Details in the company feedback section. Call for a quote. Quick turnaround and good price!

I've just had mine done at Brears in Leeds. Really nice bunch of guys cost 160 to fit the diff and rebuild. Turn around was 1 working day. They are not open Saturdays though which can make picking up dropping off a bit of a pain!

£160?! I don't understand lol, I have been quoted between £500 and £600 for rebuilds and not even for diff fitment

Depends what they replace and what parts they use.

Parts to fit a new diff (diff seals, diff bearings and bolts) are circa £70, so I'd be surprised if Mark's guys had replaced all the gearbox bearings for £160 - I got the impression he was just paying for diff fitment?

Got my diff fitted recently and I went to VW for the seals/bearings etc. and it came to around £70. So I'd agree that £160 was most likely for diff fitment because that's about what it cost me....

What's a full gearbox rebuild? Are all the gears replaced too?

No, they check play in gears etc, but all bearings are changed. Any extra wear or damage costs extra

Sorry I should have clarified, Yes it was just for the diff fitting but I supplied replacement bearings and bits and bobs which they fitted whilst doing the diff swap

Mine was about £300-ish from memory, but that was nearly 10 years ago now...
