Oulton Park Track Day Videos 28-02-2014
« on: March 01, 2014, 07:56:40 am »
Did a track day yesterday at Oulton and had a wicked day. Polo went well and had loads of track time due to no many people signing up for the day.

Managed to do consistant 2 minutes laps in the afternoon which is not bad going considering an E46 M3 CSL does 1:58 minute.

At the end of the day i did a total of 170 miles which equates to about 60 laps.

Here is the first video which is the best session as i was toying with an E-Type which was fully race pepped, owned and driven by the owner of demon tweeks, it was running 360bhp and was bloody quick and well driven although he did eventually get black flag for overtaking on the wrong side.

Had a bit of a scary moment at 5:55 where i placed one of the rear wheels onto the grass.

Good effort Rocket! The Jag looked to be puffing a bit of smoke on the overrun, though nice flame just before he pitted for his bollocking.

The jag was epic - it sounded the tits. The owner was using yesterday as a shake down test before doing goodwood in it.

Last session of the day:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVuXnfntcEg&feature=youtu.be

Got a bit more confident and pushed it quite a bit through druids which resulted in the rear end going light a few times which needed a tiny bit of opposite lock - its a 90mph corner so was quite good fun!

Love the first vid rocket. Jag driver must have been impressed/miffed at your ability to keep up. I'm getting gearboxes sorted at the moment. Where you thinking of doing next?

The Polo was a bit quicker than the E-Type, behind it i was doing 2:06ish and on a clear run i was doing 2:02's.

Also found out that the reason why the back end was twitchy under braking is because one of the rear brakes has no material left on the drum shoes!
