Standard air-box vs cone filter induction kit.
« on: July 19, 2013, 11:14:37 am »
Pretty boring topic but thought i'd ask anyway;

I've searched the forum on this topic but the thread didn't help me that much.

basically just curious as to if a cone filter helps more? or is it just there for the noise..
I recently went back to the standard airbox with a febi filter from Pete, much prefer it, but the intake holes on the airbox seem small which leaves me thinking does it take in less air and is it restricting the car in anyway or am I just over thinking it.

If so, is there some way of drilling or modifying the standard airbox slightly to improve air intake but keeping it silent?

Thanks, Matt.

Ive always wondered this too, went from a cone filter to standard box
i cut away all the restrictions and drilled a neat hole in the underside of the airbox to aid flow

If you look in the hole coming out of the top of the airbox there may be a dougnut shaped piece of plastic which makes, I say may as it could have already been removed, it was  fairly common thing to do years ago.
