Depending upon if it is old/new stock at your local GSF you may have to ask for a set of 'WR5DP0', same plug but have a Resistor in them, same money, but later stocks are WR's as they may tell you that W5's are a obsolete line.

ok thanks for that..  im convinced my plugs are the reason for my slight early morning misfire.  on start up on the cold mornings the car seems to be running on 3 cylinders, literally for the first half a minute if that until ive pulled out my space in the street.  the car runs absolutly fine, drives perfect but this has been something that has bugged me over the last few months and im convinced its the plugs.  30 odd k on plugs is quite a length of time so its possible one or all of them have seen better  days i would have thought.  everything else is new as most of you will know so im gonna try plugs and see if it solves it.  its literally just on these colder mornings and doesnt have idle issues or running problems any further than this startup issue.

I found that running WR4DP0 seems to have given my car an appettite for rotor arms - Yoof's donor car was well on the way to doing the same. Not sure why though, unless it's the map/engine mods.

Found switching to NGK Plugs has been alot better, they've survived 22psi and nitrous so far, which takes a very hard plug. They're cheap too!

i had ngks in mine for about 20k - bp7evx (w5dpo equivalent by ngk) or summat and less than £20 a set.. didn't have a prob with them - neither did my dad's g40, but both weren't highly tuned motors though

I think I have the same problem as you with the 1.6GT(currently running W5DPO's) and came to the same conclusion that the plugs had seen better days. Whoever replaces them first, post the results up here if it cures it.

I bought W5DPO's about 6 months ago from my work and they were £10 each.
My local VW stealership in Stirling wanted £17.50+Vat for the same plugs.
