How hard is g40 cambelt to do the clutch is on its way out do I just take engine and box out?

If you've got to do both, then yeah.
Once it's out very easy- VW are nice and put modern technology like woodruff keys into pulleys, unlike Renault
I jest, anyway, it's easy and cheap, might aswell do the water pump too whilst you're at it.

Might be worth stitch welding the dodgy gearbox mount whilst its out
mines started to crack and im running pretty much standard power so definitely worth doing

as you look down at the engine its the one on the right, so i suppose that would be the top one
have a look on yoofs build thread, hes got lots of useful pictures and guide on how to do it.
Severe cases the mount can fail and snap off
