Just wondering how you found the power delivery on your g40 using the eaton?. As mine seems to have very little bottom end torque and the power band is high up in the rev range 5000rpm Ive not been in another eaton g40 so would be good to know if you found yours similar?

mine was the opposite. brutal low down and not so good at the end of the rev range

Oh right, what cam an were you using as i've read that can make a nig difference to an eaton.I think Iam going to give changing the cam, and getting it mapped properly to see if that will help with the spread of power

Yeah did it feel completely gutless bottom end? It took me some getting used to from the instant gains of the g lader

Some of the characteristic will be determined by cam choice too. The usual 'Eaton' cam that PSD sold was pretty naughty in duration, so I reckon sticking that on with a G40 lader would make for a peaky motor too!

My eaton was instant power from 1500rpm till around 4000 and then mediocre power till the rev limiter. But then again my engine had stock cam and injectors and no program, still was making 18,1kg of torque from 2,500 rpm and topping at 19,1 at around 5,000 rpm. It was a beast and I miss it  :'(

Mines currently running a standard g40 cam, would be helpful to know what exactly a psd eaton cam was as there are quite a few that have come up for sale etc but no one knows the specs. I'm thinking of trying a schrick 252 276 ?

The eaton is fun on the road even though the whine can get bait much on motorway trips!

I know they've a lot more duration than the 254/276 (or thereabouts) Schrick and Piper offerings, and had a lot of overlap - as to exact spec I'm not sure, Liam did tell me back in the day but I wasn't interested in Eatons at the time so didn't pay attention...

Some of the conversions out there will be crappy to drive unless they've got a decent map to suit.

Yeah I am planning on getting mine mapped up properly just in the process of getting it back out the garage.

I kinda loved the eaton sound and I was driving the car a total of 2 hours every day on my way to work and back and it didn't really bother me. Although I usually drove it on the higher possible gear to minimize the rpm and the sound of the charger. It was only getting kinda annoying on longer trips like 3 to 4 straight hours cause it was difficult to have a conversation in the car without having to scream. I still wouldn't change the eaton set up though.

I know what you mean. Took it to nurburgring last summer, my ears were ringing by the end of that journey aha.
