Lupo 1.4

A mates wife in Harrogate has just passed her driving test and is looking at a VW Lupo 1.4 Ltr, 2005 model.

Anybody know of any issues or things to look out for.

Think she said its done 88k.

I got one for the missus when she passed her test. List of main problems they can have

Peddle box crack
Alot of the 1.4 seem to drink oil
Gearbox's are weak
Temp sensor play up every now and again
Rust bubbles on the roof but this can be done under the VW warranty

Nice little first time car my missus loved it

1.4  alloy block the rings go and pass lots of oil... mostly above 75k miles, and i believe vw just say replace bottom end as its alloy!

yep i know of two over 80k and both have had the piston rings go
