Big problems

Been awhile since iv been on here lads as iv been doing another project.
Iv still been using the G as a daily but tonight I reversed out of my road the oil light cane on so I checked the oil it was low so I went to the garage to get some more and the oil bleeper went off As soon as moved really . I have put more oil in but the oil light won't go off and the bleeper comes on and won't go off now, iv had a quick look and it seems like there is oil all down the back of the block. It has been getting hot lately whilst driving but only just over 90 degrees.

So I was wondering if anyone had the same problem?? I was thinking maybe the head gasket had gone or is going or the oil pump is nakered and not pumpin the oil round?? Can anyone help??

sounds to me like and oil pressure sender on the back of the head is knackered, is p1ssing oil and is not sending correct info to the clocks - hence the buzzer

Yeah check the actuall sender isnt leaking. I had one of them go once and the oil pours out of there when they are running. Like Pete says it could cause a faulty reading too.

After having a look it seems to be the oil pressure sensor I have booked the car in to the local garage to have the work done as I hasn't had time lately and because it's my daily. I also asked to he the block check for all the gaskets etc, they have just phoned me and the dreaded signs of combustion gas have appeared in the oil or water . I was just wondering what's the best way to go about getting the head done e.g. Do it myself, get it done at the garage and get the block skimmed etc.

probably cheaper to do it yourself, it will only take a couple of hoursand you can leave the most of the aux on the car and just remove the head. then you would be able to determin whether it requires skimming depending on the state of the gasket.

What will I need to look out for when changing the gasket?? How will I be able to tell If the head needs skimming??
