Rocker cover bolts! ARGH

Basically i think ive blown or broke the bolts on the rocker cover and am in need of some more asap!! think going to have to drill the rest out! *cry :(
If anybody out there can hunt me some out because ive failed at that would be great!!!

VW - £8 each. After my 3rd one I decided to get a torque wrench that goes down that far.

Careful if your drilling these as the swarf will be all over your cam, and I'm pretty sure if I recall that they have got helicoil inserts in, so if you do drill make sure you have replacment inserts and the tools to fit them.

I'd remove the cam bearing caps and drill them on a bench otherwise I can't really see how you'll stop swarf and filings getting into the engine.

I'll vouch for that ! Vacuum cleaner nozzle held close by does the trick though.

I broke one on my rocker cover once... once I fully removed the cover, what was left was only finger tight and came straight out... may not be too bad once the bolt is not under tension.

i broke one of mine the other day fitting a piper cam, vw have just charged me £15 plus vat for one bolt without washers. :'(
