heat wrap and heat sheilding
« on: January 15, 2010, 06:15:58 pm »
hi all,
just going to order some heat wrap for my down pipe just wondering if there where any other bits that may need protecting from the heat the turbo generates, should anything else be protected by using heat matts or other types of shielding?
Aso just wondered what thickness heat wrap other people have used is 2mm sufficient i think its rated to about 550 degrees c but not sure what temps to be expecting on the down pipe and wheres a good place to get from ??
  Thanks

Mines 2mm thick and I got it off eBay. I wouldn't buy anything coloured though as it soon fades.

does heat wrapping have a down side? e.g keeping the heat in.
