Just got a standard backbox! dear god its quiet!

My old backbox was so loud, any trip that wasnt just around town was a huge hassle!

loving life '010 now! doesnt seem to have lost any grunt from what i can feel, that backbox was so wank! at 70 / 3000rpm it droaned SO load and now its a whisper!

on the way home from fitting it i kaned some kid in a 106 with his billy big bore on. felt sorry for him!

SO pleased!

i've taken a few people out in my g40 and got them to love life with a stock exhaust... Samg40, dknight etc...

yeah, still cant believe the difference its made, got a standard airbox coming too but i think its deffo quiet enough to keep the induction kit of in the airbox saps power!

You think you loost much / any power on a backbox? i remember reading on matey-matey that on a vw you dont get much power at all for exhaust systems ect and some arnt worth the extra weight they are?

yup pete is right, i got a stock exhaust on as i was sick of aftermarket ones being poor, sounding too loud.

Stock one gives a nice pur, and they are not of poor quality either, i cant see the power differences being noticeable at all

mine is on its last legs tho lol

thats what I just got, loads cheaper than a VW one, fitted well, quiet and looks nice so cant complain!

I bought a vag one. Expensive but very good quality compared to the aftermarket standard box i had on before and yes...very quiet.
