hi all, which suspension set up would you recommend to use for a track day? i waana have the g40 sitting as low as possible and handling nice but dont really wanna fork out hundreds of pounds for coilovers. any ideas? cheers.

if you really are wanting to use it on track then you don't want it as low as possible, you need some compliance.

If you just want shocks and springs then koni "yellows" and some decent quality springs are ideal.

Coilovers are ideal because you can swap and change springs for different poundage ones to get the car setup how you like it to handle (rock solid and on it's arse is never best).  Plus coilovers will generally have had the steering arms lowered down too so the angle of the steering arms isn't as cocked up as it is when using standard struts.

what coilovers would you recommend? dont i have to send off my front struts in exchange?

I have a set of Gaz (fully adjustable) coilies and im very impressed with them all round. Cost £620 iirc.

All available coilovers that i have heard of for the mk3 polo are on a strut exchange basis indeed.

For serious track use its coilies all the way!!
