Stock Airbox cut restriction - how much

Hi,

This is how my stock airbox looks (I guess previous owner has messed with it a bit / cut out)
Basically how much more can be cut out from the air box/filter exit?



Also showing entrance for what its worth.

My last box was also cut around the sides that belong to the bottom half of the airbox. Depends what the spec/map you have

Cheers yer did think about drilling it.
more wondering how much of the restriction people cut out on the outlet.
I reckon I can take more

anybody knows why VW have made that restriction?

thinking about removing mine aswell...  does it makes a noticable difference? the first question keeps me busy
