Hi all,

Names Johnathan, just got myself a G40 with circa 50k original miles but it hasn't been started or driven in 4/5 years at this stage, anyone have any recommendations on points to look into to get her running again other than the usual oils filters etc etc.

Just fyi, I'm a longtime VW head, currently building a supercharged vr6 mk2 golf and have had many past dubs that kept me busy including a few polos.

Anyway, hope you could give me some advice and thanks in advance!!!

All i would say is like you say change all the fluids on the car,
I would look at the brakes as the rear cylinders like to seize.
would make sure you have fresh fuel in the car.
then crank the engine over with the fuel pump and king lead disconected a few times to get the oil back around the engine and in to teh charger. prob best with the plugs out to make it easier.
would also check the compresion while you are at it.

then have fun driving one and keep an eye out for oil leaks in the charger as standing for that long the seals may not have done to well.

other than that have fun.

At the very least change the small cambelt on the charger before trying to crank it. I believe there is an faq on here how to change it. If it were me I'd want to crack the charger open to inspect inside it before I tried to run it.
