brake pedal

Hi guys,

Im just coming to the end of getting my g40 back on the road.
Put the battery in and noticed the brake lights are constantly on.
I took out the the brake light switch off the pedal and tested it. It worked fine. After closer inspection it seems the pedal is only resting against the switch rather than pushing it in. It looks like there should be some sort of spacer between the pedal and switch to make up the gap.
Would anyone know if there should be or not??

Its adjustable - grab the white bit that the pedal acts on and give it a tug. It should extend.
