Splitting an ATV Gearbox, any helpful tips or practices would be appreciated

Okay folks, ive got the gearbox out my g40 to inspect why it wont go into first gear. Im going tobe splitting it over the weekend and i was wondering if there are any tips on how todo so. Thanks
