They're not made by VW, they're made by a company called Tresor who take normal cars and modify them like that.  See them come up for sale every blue moon on german ebay.  Personally I think they look awful

yeah, they're not good looking, but it's strange, because i never heard about this model.

It's damn ugly but would solve a lot of problems when a polo is your only car & ya need a few DIY supplies.
