I came across this thread about bumper restoring; http://www.polog40.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,5089.msg38770.html#msg38770

I've always used Mer bumper stuff and found it to be the best thing for me, but after reading into the G Techniq C4 product and watching a few vids on it I'm thinking it may be worth £25 for 15ml if it saves me having to reapply every week, but more appealing than that is it won't attract (well, you know what I mean) dust.

For those that aren't aware of it, it's basically a chemical that bonds with the plastic on a molecular level to create a seemingly impenetrable layer, instead of just sitting on top of the existing plastic like most other products do. This means spangly black plastics with little/ no effort.

I'd like to know if anyone has used it or any of their other products and what your thoughts are on it/ them. Is it as good as they make out? Certainly seems to look like it does the job on their vids.

After reading the first page about it on a forum they link to the guy was up for a group buy of 20 people for a saving of 20% (this was in 2008 however). If there's enough intrest then I'd be up for trying to sort this out, but I'm looking to get some in the next 2 weeks, so if you want on board then let me know ASAP by posting here.

More importantly though I'd like to hear your thoughts if you've used it, as it may well be no good. The science seems to sound logical though! 8)

keep meaning to buy some but not got round to it yet.  Read lots of threads on detailing world and the people that use it seem to be happy and the results look really good.

I'd looked at this stuff myself, but the thought of paying £25 for a teaspoonful of it made me look elsewhere. What I've tried and am very pleased with is Forever Black. £15.50 delivered for 120ml. I've only done a set of arch trims and side trims but the result was excellent albeit it took two coats. Now all I have to do is wait forever to see if it stands up to the test of time. It's available from quite a few outlets online.

A mate of mine has used it on his mk2 which had typically faded bumpers and arch trims.
One application and a year on and they still look superb. No streaking or anything, does what it says it will.
I'd highly recommend it, it is expensive but then you don't need to use it very often unlike most of the other back to black trim restorers.

I have got some stuff that will protect it for years and years, and its free. Will try get some pics of it on to see how it come up as im yet to try it on my own bumpers. Did my spare grill and it looks new still. That was 2 months ago. And its waterproof.
