Just treated the G to a new(recon) starter motor and battery. The battery from Car battery World a Bosch S5 costing £58 including delivery. If you assume it cost a tenner for delivery then it's £48 for the battery. If I go to my local Halfords it costs £96 for the same battery; only twice the price. Having said that, halfords would sell it for £90 if I bought it online and fit it for a tenner, so maybe they're not that greedy after all.

get a halfords trade card i got the same battery for around £60 with trade discount youve only got to show them some papers which have the word mechanical on them i showed them my mechanical engineering onc and they gave me one!

bulbs £2.49 50 pence with trade
vented front discs for a pug 306 £30. £14.95 with trade
theres some bargains to be had

Yep, treated mine to a new genuine VW battery before Christmas, cost about €55, thats Stg £45ish?
