Alright guys, fitted one of these off a mk2 golf 16v, bled all the brakes perfect no air whatsoever, but theyre binding theyre constantly on, any ideas?

Cheers.

Sounds like there's a blockage stopping the fluid bleeding back. Quite possible if it's a used master cylinder.

Its a brand new item dude :S.

PeteG40

sounds more like a dodgy rear cylinder to me

BrettG40

Ive fitted a brand new unit the one side only a few days ago as the bleed nipple snapped off in the old one so could that have anything to do with it?

PeteG40

maybe the other side - if its crusty in the drum, it'll stick open

BrettG40

Ah i see, how would that cause the fronts to stay on though?

hayesey

if all four brakes are constantly on all the time then I'd probably say it's a duff master cylinder although I've never seen anything like that happen.  Usually a duff master cylinder means you have no brakes.
