Anyone got the new 1-50 insurance rating for a standard G40 yet ?

hardchargin40

I never even realised it was changing?

Seen this referred to quite frequently over the last few months, but won't be relevant for me for another couple. I'm assuming insurance companies are going to refine and redefine their terms and I don't expect it'll do anyone much good. There's someone one the forum who's pretty well clued up on insurance iirc, hopefully he'll give us some info.

All i know at the mo is that it will depend on a few things.

The new car price, reflecting variations in trim level and the cost of settlement in the event of a ´total loss´
Vehicle performance, both the 0-60 m.p.h. acceleration and top speed
Parts Pricing from a standard list of 23 parts
A vehicle´s security levels

My friends audi S4 comes up as group 39

my 1.6 6n polo is a group 14.

It seems to me that most cars from 1996 are on the new ratings but older cars haven't been done yet. There are a few others as well that are missed, lambo's aren't on there.

Check it out!

hehe, yeah just seen our smart roady is 22, and the Elise I want is 39! :o   Still Im an old git now, shouldn't be too much.

You'd expect the G40 to be late 20s, early 30s I reckon. ???

Wait till the bug for the GSX-R conversion to the Smart bites. You won't need the Elise.

Toyota MR2 engine conversion is a better one, more driveable than a high revving nutter.  On the track, a stock brabus roadster/remapped standard one was pretty even with a stock elise.  I want a 111S S1 though, 156bhp and 740kg.  ;D
