Basically folks, I really cocked up ordering some PTFE spray for my charger. I'm desperately hoping that it will turn up tomorrow, and therefore making this post irrelivant. As I have an MOT booked for my car at 8 am saturday!

But the favour I am asking is if anybody (as close to Walsall as possible ) has the PTFE spray that is used in G40 chargers. Must be for G-laders. That i could collect, have a cheeky 2 sec spray then return to you with a couple of cheeky beers as a way of thanks, I would be over the chuffin moon!!!

As I said, i'm hoping this post is irrelivant, and it will turn up tommorow.
Just trying to sort a back up plan out!!!!

Cheers everybody

me = couriering?

I've sent it today so I'm afraid it's not going to get to you till monday now.  I have had a very busy week and didn't know it was that urgent, sorry.

No problem both, I do have some lube which an engineering friend has given me, which he says will be fine with the seals etc. But is a lot thinner.
So will just put a little blast in, if it gets thru the MOT tomorrow, before i do many more miles other than to the station and back!!

Cheers for the replies both.

The car will only just be going on the road to get to the MOT. SO will be the first time the charger has been used since the new seals etc. So didn't want to run it without any. But Pete built it up with some, so shpould be o.k for a few miles, then i'll use my thinner stuff till my PTFE turns up! (I think I maybe becoming a G hypocondriac!!!!)

If pete put some in when it was rebuilt then it should be fine for at least 1000 miles yet.

What do you mean by thinner stuff? Dont put anything in it other than the what you've ordered from the Club.

JregGT

I have a friend who is an engineer at Henkel (who own loctite) He looked into it for me when said I was struggling, as really i'd ordered too late. The spray he has given me matches all the properties required of the PTFE for a G-lader. i.e won't harm the seals, has a higher melting point, but is thinner. So I would confidently use it on his advice. But,
After having spoken to Pete and Haysey I will leave it till the spray arrives as there should be enough for the bit of driving I plan to do this weekend if it passes the MOT!
Then I can get into the routine of doing it properly.

Cheers folks
