Irony disguised as un-alloyed sarcasm; nice.lol.

Now I'm struggling with this. Can anyone enlighten me as to the benefits of having a dump valve in the system. Surely this mod wasn't made just to make a loud farting noise?

Aj-G40

when i asked where it fitted to i meant where on the supercharger, because if its the outlet that goes to the intercooler surely u wud lose boost?

in fitting a dump valve it dumps the waste warm air the charger would normally recycle back in, so the charger just sucks in cool air which is ment to be better tho not to sure itl actually make too much difference.

tdh-syorks

but its on the outlet so the warm re-circulated air has already mixed in with the clean cold air,, can't see how this thing works ???, superchargers don't need to dump air/gasses, only turbo's need to do this.  please correct me if i'm wrong i'm just a little lost with this one

Pointless having one unless your running a turbo. The high pressure boost is dumped to stop it stalling the turbo impeller during gear changes....

I do hear having one makes a terrible mess of your engine bay...  :-\

dunno i was just going off what i was told as mine had one fitted when i got it, the way it was fittied is the charger had a blanking plate on the side of the charger that went into the rocker cover so it only has the air filter pipe going into it (which is what i think this item is) the the dump valve was fittted on the smaller pipe coming out of the throttle body on the air filter side. and yes it did make a mess in the engine bay as it sprayed oil everywhere tho the guy also sed you can fit an oil catching thing. i havent noticed any difference in running since taking it off although the engine temp is a lil bit higher.

Its for noise more than anything else.... this was fitted a number of years ago for testing
