Could it be an oil leak from the chargers drain plug thats dripping onto a hot surface?

it is leaking oil from somwhere. i will get underneath it today as long as the rain dries up

You could check the head gasket at the front of the block by the charger. The oil seal in that corner is prone to be a bit weepy.
