hi guys hope some1 can help just picked up a rear axel to convert my car back to drums!
came off a baby 1 liter going to rebuild it before fitting just looked up all parts required and found all parts the same as g40 ??
eg. brake pipes, shoes, drums, rear subframe bushes, ect but when it comes to wheel cylinders they have a diffrent part number!!!
are they diffrent and is anything else diffrent on the g40???

with thanks once agian james

hayesey

yes they are bigger on gt/g40 and any other mk3 with a bias valve near the rear axle.

I thought the axle itself was better on g40/gt's? The anti roll bar is bigger i think?

breadman

The GT/G40 axle has an anti roll bar, all other models do without one.

rear has an anti roll bar dose it???? ive got a converted g40 so not sure!!! if so any1 got pics from under rear of car to show this??

Turbodaily

Yeah it has an anti-roll bar that runs along the inside of the beam iirc.
I thought a 1tr also had one, but the diameter is smaller than a gt/g40 one.

I have just had some fitted mate, if you need the part number for the right ones let me know.

I think they were ordered fro GSF.

Turbodaily

The only difference i had with gsf ones was that they only had 1 tapped hole for the bolts, the original had 2 tapped holes.
Not a problem though as just used the 1 bolt lol

Oh right, when i get my car back i will let you know what mine are like. The fella who is doing it said he would look to see what type and then order them in.
