Hi guys,

Purchased a schrick 252/276 cam and vernier pulley from Yoof, should be reciving it some time next week.

The cam has done 8k miles already on another G40 which Yoof was breaking.

What i'd like to know is whats recomended to be changed before or at the same time as fitting this cam to my car? Currently i just have a standard cam.

Am i right in thinking the only thing i should be replacing is the tappets as they wear along with the cam? If this is right were should i purchase some from (Direct from VW???)

Thanks, any help is appricated :)

yeah - tappets is a good idea - as long as a decent make (INA etc) GSF should be ok. I'd personally also replace the cam oil seal.

As the cambelt needs to be loosened and cam pulley off, if its not been done very recently I'd think about doing the cambelt and perhaps the water pump.

Cambelt and waterpump have been done very recently ;)

So:

-Tappets
-Cam oil seal

Any ideas on prices of these direct from VW by any chance?

tappets are about £10 each from vw i think - they are about £4-5 each from gsf

cam oil seal less than £10

bbspolo
