g40 reving its nuts off

Ive just put my mk4 g40 back together and when i start it it revs at about 1500 then rises rapidly after a few seconds.Anyone else had this problem before?

sounds like an air leak to be honest.

check the throttle body the flap may be bend.i just had this issue with mine

Are the two wires that connect to the back of the head still connected? Mine come off once and caused the engine to go mental.
