Is it ok to test an ECU with a turbo chip in it on a standard G40 just to test?

I have found a chap that is willing to help me test whether my ECU is knackered. He has an ECU that has a turbo chip in it. is it ok to plug it into my G just to test that it gets a spark or runs? It will literally be like a one minute test. Just crank over the engine and see if it sparks. Or do it have to have the standard chip in it?

Thanks

Robin

you'll be fine to use it to see if it does run but don't drive using the chip.
