Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a normal 5 speed Mk3 polo and G40 left front Gearbox mount ?

Yes the 5 speed mounts are different and g40's have specific mounts too but the difference is minimal! You can use a normal 5 speed mount on a g40 though.
