Drivers side strut housing wanted

Hi,
I have decided to get the car back on the road, and while looking over it for mot I have found that my front strut housing is rotten where the spring seat joins the strut housing.
Does anyone have one I can buy?
Don't need the shock itself just the strut housing.

does anyone know if part No 867 412 026A is the correct number for o/s/f (drivers side) strut housing?

I did have one spare housing at home.  not sure which side, will check.

I thought vw supplied as a sealed damper unit at about 300 a leg

i asked vw today and they said they were discontinued 2012 or i would have gone for that option.
