Anyone fancy RWYB at Santa Pod in August? Plenty going on July/August time with shows, so 10th August is clear of most (I think)
It's on a Saturday with mini in the park the next day, so hopefully should be quiet(ish) for a summer RWYB.

I'm not a definite by any means as it is currently my only free Saturday in August. Would be good to take this car down the strip though.

My stage 5 G40 should be up and finally on the road in a few weeks so want to go to as many shows as possible! so id be up for this!

Ant- bring some nitrous jets (big ones) so I can encourage you to run 100bhp of gas, all in the name of R&D ;)

As it happens I think I have some larger jets.... I think that may be the quick route to the back of an AA van rather than R&D !!

Are you running Robin?
Might be an idea to find a campsite close by and have a few jars the night before, unless you could camp at pod. Nothing too silly mind if we are running the next day.

usually they just ask for your plastic card license, but i havent got mine, i got the paper part and does anyone know if thats ok to take?

Give them a ring mate, they're usually quite understanding, if you can bring a passport or some form of Photo ID with your name on I don't see why not.

Will buzz them tomorrow. Got my passport and my navy id so should be good.

I'm contemplating bringing mine, not going to run the strip but will be nice to see a few
G40's and meet the faces behind the cars

I think last Year i wore a vest the entire day I raced, open the door on the drive up the pitlane too , baking hot.

My best was 13.4 @ 104.5mph.
Only did 4 runs though as I got bored of the massive queue! The car has a fair bit more in it, but it's nearly 2 years since I last took it down the strip, so I need to get dialled back in.
Robin did a 13.6 pass too.
Yoof didn't get as far as finishing setting up his new actuator properly, let alone running the gas - but think he still managed a 13.1. Could do with a quiet test n tune day to get his car setup really!

Bit disappointing today having to queue a good 90mins to get a run - couldn't keep any temp in the drag slicks which didn't help.
As Andy said I managed a 13.6 @ 102.9mph and like Andy i felt that there was more in the car. Did 4 runs in total and the last 3 runs came down by 0.1second per run.
I think I will try York next time.

looks fun! :D still finding it hard to the power down in second on sticky ground, with a diff and drag slicks!? thats mad power!

Yeah the Que at the end was a joke! Only got 3 runs myself and a new PB of 14.2 at 99.2mph.
Hopefully will get some slicks for next time and i think i will easily get into the 13's.
Will upload some vid's as well.

Busy day!
13.1 @ 109mph backing out in 4th due to pinking, no gas and 20psi. 60ft times about 0.15 off 'best' which could be a combination of Quiff not Diff, and lack of track prep.
Only got 3 runs, might try Shakey next time ;D
