bga headgasket is listed as for all mk3s incl g40...  so i dont think its right.

however bga g40 spec headbolts are correct 10.9 tensile (not 8.8 as per normal polo headbolts)

Well the bga one i've got is listed for NZ/3F and PY - the NZ and PY have two different part numbers on vagcat

so it might be ok - but I didn't chance it and mine is still in the packet!

Its a bit like if you go to gsf and get a rocker cover... you get a cl/gt one... which is just rubber.  G40 ones have a steel insert and are much better quality.

Just looked up a few bits and found the current VW numbers for the following parts are

Head bolts - 030 103 384 M11x1.5 x98
Headgasket - 030 103 383 R the letter R is the important bit
Exhaust gasket - 030 253 039 A (for a pair)
Inlet manifold gasket - 030 129 717 D
Dizzy oil seal - 030 905 224 (42x4.5mm) + lil bugger 030 905 261
Camshaft oil seal - 030 103 085 A (47x10mm)
Thermostat housing seal - 030 121 119
Cambelt - 052 109 119 (special note PY 002 177)
Waterpump - theres 2 types - square tooth and round tooth cambelt

052121 005 AX (special note PY 002 177)
052121 005 LX (special note PY 002 178)
i dont know which is correct - i have a brand new in the box water pump in my garage with my 1W build but i cant get to it just yet to confirm which numbers which

the seal for the pump on its own is
030 121 043 B (4mm)
030 121 043 A (5mm) which i think its for a worn or corroded leaking block

Throttle body seal - 030 133 073 A

Exhaust manifold studs  - N044 410 4 M8x28
Inlet manifold studs - N044 408 2

so i got the head gasket kit, the kit said PY on the front but the gasket inside was wrapped as well and says
engine code FY?

It came with G40 rocker gasket
G40 rocker bolt rubbers
and looks like its got a metal insert in the gasket,

Is it good to use?

cheers

It is hard like if I was to bend it it would kink and stay rigid

All it says is engine code FY ?

They had a bit of trouble getting it in but after many phonecalls they got one in for me, luckily i know someone that works there so he put in more of an effort lol.

I bought the whole kit which was 42£ but i get discount so not sure how much it is normally, Just tell them your reg

Looking at the receipt is says

GSFno. SC422
Ref2. HK3542
