Title: An offer you can refuse.
Post by: scotsjohn on September 07, 2012, 05:21:41 pm
Just had an offer to buy my G from a young lady who claimed to have put the money in my Paypal account. Paypal would of course hold the money until I had paid a sum of £850 to a third party courtesy of Western Union who would give me a code to give to Paypal who would then release the balance of the money. Even an e-mail from Paypal(choked laughter here) to tell me all was well and to go ahead with the transaction. Funny thing was, this little Turd went under the name of Jessica Knowles and somewhere in the members list is a Little Knowlesy who joined in 2009, but has never posted. Hopefully no tie-in.

I think I've had at least one attempted scammer every time I've sold a car!

Is this the only place you've advertised it? Do you have an email address they were using?

Good point; I had it advertised in Classic Cars For Sale. In truth you'd have to be a bit of a fuckwit not to see what's coming and maybe that's the most annoying bit, that they think you are one. What should be a straightforward deal starts to get a smoke and mirrors aspect to it.
