Title: PSD Eaton kit...tensioners etc. Why?
Post by: AlexG40 on July 18, 2012, 06:29:34 pm: Anyone know why the PSD eaton kit uses a tensioner pulley and further tensioner on the toothed belt? As far as I can see if they weren't there the belt would be exactly the same as the standard PSD G-lader toothed belt kit. Why has it been complicated? I assume there is a reason but I can't see what it is.

Post by: AlexG40 on July 18, 2012, 07:35:33 pm: Yeh, it has a longer belt, but I would have thought the easier solution was a shorter belt. The charger tensions the same way as a G-Lader although it's pretty much at full extension, but again, a shorter belt would have done the trick.

In the absence of a better idea though....

Post by: youngprodigys on July 21, 2012, 12:27:23 pm: The top tensioner isnt a tensioner as such, it shouldnt touch the belt when its running- steve told me that its there to stop belt slap and it will want to move about and its there to stop it skipping teeth and knackering the belt, the bottom one is for tensioning it!
