Post by: PeteG40 on March 06, 2012, 09:51:39 pm
From my supplier i've got two done - £75 + your fly in exchange.  There's over a kilo removed, faces skimmed too.

you can see which ones been done from the photos!!! should make yr car rev quicker and engine brake more too!

Will this affect the smooth running of the engine at idle? or will it become lumpy? 1kg is a serious amount of weight haha

I still gotta get the one off my genesis :-) not taking my gearbox off the g for a little while ( I don't wanna do it again! ) last time I forgot the release bearing and remembered as I was doing up the battery connections (the last bit!) lol

You forgot the release bearing? Lol
Genesis ones have 180mm clutches, g40 are 200mm ones
Not sure if the flywheel is bigger?

the flywheels are the same for all late mk2s and mk3s.

Lol yep I almost cried Id just taken the 085 gearbox off to put my atv back on and found out the clutch housing is to small off the mk2 and put new fast road clutch in after all the bits I thought wher the same turned out they are not , it's all been a learning curve tho love it really
