Title: 1.4 gt turbo
Post by: mk3miles on January 28, 2011, 01:38:11 pm
i have a standard 1994 polo gt coupe but im looking for more power. i've been reading up on the 1.4 abd conversion and it seems like a relitivly straight forward conversion but it will not give me the gains im after, so heres the million dolla question...
if i where to get the adb block, connect it to my gt head and use all the standard managment would i then be able to fit a turbo designed for g40??
i got pointed in this direction by a guy on clubp (chays03).
also i no this is really cheaky but could anyone help me out with a list of arts that i will need to source?

My build thread has some useful information in this regard.

Andy's build thread on Club Polo, Hayesey's and Yoof's on here plus others are also full of conversion gold.
The first question you should ask yourself is can you justify the funds? If you go down the G40 management with K03 turbo route you're looking at at least £1k to do it properly and that's with a lot of fabrication. If like me you don't have the skills to build your own manifold, map your own car or already have G40 management around then the costs get a lot higher (like, double).
For less cash there is the 1.4 or 1.6 16v normally aspirated route which will still land you in darn quick Mk3 territory.
