PSD eaton supercharger - £200/220
 bracket - £no idea
 toothed pulleys - £160
 4 branch psd manifold - £250

Rough guess.

worth more than a turbo setup ;)

they seem to be and yet few people seem to be able to get them to work right.

BINGO.

I would avoid psd eatons like the plauge if I was starting again. You can get your G40 running properly(ish) in an afternoon going to turbo.

Never had a single problem running my G with the eaton! And it's not even remaped! ;D

does it run ok?  Pete bought a 6n polo once which had an eatoned g40 engine in it, it hadn't been remapped, fuel was "sorted" by puttnig an adjustable fuel pressure reg on it, it ran totally crap and probably made less power than a standard g40 with a 65mm pulley

So the issue is remapping rather than mechanical or is it just people's reluctance to spend the money on what counts (proper remapping as opposed to chips)?

Mine does 143hp at the crank! leans a little bit on high revs but goes like hell! and its working like that for 5 years now!

you see, 143bhp is easy to get without going to the extremes of an eaton conversion so I'm struggling to see the point.  People who have successfully done it in the UK got power more like 190bhp+.

my g40 was rolling roaded at a club g40 rolling road day several years ago and made 142bhp with 65mm pulley, gt inlet, toothed belt, stage 4 jabbasport charger, generic "poloace" chip, crappy powerflow exhaust and twin inlets.  Eaton conversion is a lot of work for 1bhp on top of that!

You mean 143@wheels?   If not, Id expect better of an eaton unless obviously its a stock G40 engine with 'just' an eaton added.

Standar engine and just the eaton added! I'll send you the dyno diagram as soon as I find it! its 143 at the crank! and its doing 1,2 to 1,3bar! I was as surpriced as you are when the figures came out but it's the most reliable dyno I know! Reason I did it is because it cost me less money than getting a new G-lader when mine was gone or going turbo (it cost me back then 700€), it gave me more hp with less worries about the chargers maintenance, it was fairly easy to do and the eaton was easy to get hold to!

nice one!

Didn't realise it was stock bar the charger.  Good benchmark figure to go for for eaton conversions knowing what it adds just by replacing the charger.
