Been offered these for £700 a piece, with a discount if more than 1 is purchased.
Brand new G40 Superchargers, never run and been stored in a cool, dry location with protective caps all their lives- estimated to be 15years old now (not sure if seals will still be good), but probably one of the last chances (if not the last) to own a 100% new G40 lader.
I have no use for these so thought I'd open the offer up to you guys...
Few pics I've been sent.

the first picture is cool!
I know how much these are worth but I think they'll struggle for £700 each. Do they do buy-one-get-one-free offers? Three-for-two? haha
-
Guddi is selling one of these for £650 delivered, but even that is still a bit expensive. I have two spare chargers already, so would have to drop to around the £500 to temp me.
-
no interest in one but the thought of rare NOS really does something for me....think I need to get out more
-
yeah i think the price is the biggest put off, id go near to £500 at most!
-
ahhh man they look amazing. wouldnt it be nice to have one of them!
-
I think the whole rack of chargers would look quite nice hanging on my living room wall.
-
I'd love one but it would be a really expensive ornament because I dont think I could ever bring myself to use it! I've already got a spare charger too so yeah bit too expensive for me too. I think I'd rather have one of your lovely subframes Yoof for that money!
-
Aye they're alot of cash considering their condition is unknown.
Offer is there if anyone wants it let me know :D

Hi,
yeah it´s me selling those chargers...
I can tell you for sure that those chargers had been tested at the VW test benches.
When I got them, I also tested those ( I built a test bench a few months ago)...all of em are just fine, I compared the new chargers with about 10 chargers I had been rebuild since the last 6 months....
I drive such chargers in my own 2 Polo g40´s and have absolutely no trouble with them.
And I also drop the price to 530....but I cannot go any lower...
Thanks!
Martin

hello to you if I take you all makes me a price?
-
guddi up on clubpolo you posted the pic of the new charger where the castings were totally smooth and the pic of a used one with circular markings on them, its really bugging me as to how they get formed! is it just down to dirt particals getting into the charger? sorry to go off topic!

Hi,
yes you are right, it is dirt and dust sitting below the apex stripes and then grab into the really soft magnesium....
You find those "marks" on every used charger...thats why a new charger is always the better part to get when good boost pressure is wanted...the apex stripes cannot seal those marks as they are to hard due to long term use of those stripes.
Thanks!

i see! cheers for confirming that

????????,

only problem is id need to spend another 500 quid porting it out to run with all my mods so wouldn't work out to be cost effective, however would look good on the the side in my room lol

What are you really ecpecting from the porting ? 0,1bar more pressure ok. But the new charger makes this 0,1bar more pressure, cause the apex strips are working better.
If you port a new charger you may get 0.2bar more boost pressure, so your setup is also not correct.

porting a charger doesn't cost £500 anyway. A full service and porting costs roughly that but most of those costs are in the new seals and bearings etc... Porting alone should be about £200 if I remember correctly (going off what PSD used to charge).
However, I'd be nervous about the condition of seals that have been sat in a charger on a shelf for 15+ years.

But you should consider that if you order it right at VW you get the same charger, and do you really think that they sell chargers with warranty from those they know that the chargers will produce trouble with the sealings ?
The last produced chargers were made in 1992, after they put a lot chargers in stock, they destroyed all the machines.

Whoever quoted you 500 for porting is having a laugh, if its all new then I'd happly strip, port it and rebuild with fresh klubber grease for 220 +p&p

I wasn't quoting the price for soley the porting guys, it was a price for stage R1 port an a full service at Jabbasport. Unless ofcourse you are selling the units with a warranty i would get is serviced for piece of mind

alors tu me les vends combien tes compresseur g40?
-
Suppose it would be silly to assume any of these are left ?
