how long do i need to run in a rebuilt charger for?

Recomened distance is 400miles

ah, well i had a broken lambda and had to use boost as it was over fuelling big time on the motorway. spose a rebuild will be soon coming again then!

"had to" ?? rich is better than lean....

Yeah, that does make me sound like a tool i know.

It was OVER over fuelling. as in, black smoke out the back all the time, and it was SO rich. it had to be on boost to get the air in there to burn it. or it decelerated. did it for months. 17mpg too. that 170 miles from a tank. so yes. I 'had to' (unfortunately)

I just hope you haven't bore washed the engine as I did that in very similar circumstances (or at least that's what I suspect happened, the next time I used the engine it was down on compression, I've since replaced it).  Really if it's overfuelling to that extent then it's time to call the AA/RAC/whoever you're with.

I did put up with it, fixed it now though!
