Title: I am desperate, I need your help, please.
Post by: demoG40 on July 07, 2009, 10:19:36 pm

Back to you, desperate to find a solution and never able to find it  :-\

I have a small "problem" in my G40:
Look at a photo of my front wheels, you can see that are not perfectly centered, are displaced in the hollow back of the body kit.
Now I'm going with the standard wheels and I do not care because it do not rub or anything, it's just for aesthetics.
But I have 4 wheels on 14 to the polo, but the problem will be if it going to rub on the body kit  :-[
I wanted to ask if there is no way to regulate this??
someone else has had this problem?

I look for internet and another pics of polo are same like mine :/

See the pic of my car (blue) and another G40 (white)

a big hug

Check the condition of your Anti-Roll Bar, Track Control Arms and that none of them are loose. This can be a problem with simple and not too substantial, standard suspension.

I did look the antiroll bar and it is ok.
The car had the standar suspension, with short Apex.
Do you think if I ask in the VW they can help me?

that's what happens when you lower a mk3 polo, you need to fit g-laderseite.de front ARB blocks to sort out of the castor angle and move the wheel forwards.  Or if you want to be able to adjust it to get it perfect then you need a subframe.

when you fit lowering springs to a g40 you change the position of the wheel in the arch.  The way to fix it is to buy some of these:

http://www.g-laderseite.de/eshop/product_info.php?products_id=58

which move the anti roll bar forwards and put the wheel back more like it should be.

The ideal solution is to buy a subframe such as the ones sold by PPP here:

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=77066

Then you can adjust the castor angle and set the wheel as you want it.

Nice hayesei.
But the subchasis it´s really expensive for me.
I look my chasis yesterday, and I saw the anti roll bar had two positions, one back, and other more front.
Look for a "pic" i draw

Now, the anti roll is on the blue points, but i look for the green points are more front, do you think if i punt the anti roll bar in this points (green) the wheels goes to front?
Do i have to I more regular things like shock absorbers and change that or just stand in front wheels?

Sounds like its been hit into a kerb...

I'd change the strut (damper casing and hub) and roll bar/arms...
