Title: rev counter?
Post by: bbvw on May 19, 2009, 06:20:18 pm
Hi people, just started my g40 up and rev counter has decided to stop working, everything else works in the cluster but the rev counter. Anyone had this before or know what it could be?  :)

So this problem wouldnt be down to a fuse?

I dont understand why it has suddenly stopped working however, since the car is very rarely driven and is only started a few times a week to keep it all in working order!

Yeah, fuel, temp, mileage counter, spedo and all lights work...

So this is more then likely a problem with the actual wire going from the ECU to the rev counter?

Went to take my clocks out today but before giving it ago i started the engine just once more to see if they had magically started working, and guess what......They hadn't!

However i gave them a very slight tap and behold, they started working....Guessing this is either due to a lose connection or the pin got stuck due to very infrequent use?

Thanks for the help though guys, its greatly appricated
